Possible Makerspace Station Ideas

  • Name Pronunciation Station

  • Print 3 Bookmarks that link to Author Name Pronunciations

  • Consider Alaya Dawn Johnson, Scott Magoon, and Richard Wagamese on discussing the origins of their names

  • Invite students to scan the QR code, listen, and take notes if applicable.

  • When they are finished, they can record their own name pronunciation!

  • Video Book Trailers

  • Select book trailers for students to view and get ideas from to then create their own

  • Such as Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lax, and Warcross

  • Use as announcements, at assemblies, a Technology Club project, or to introduce a new unit!

  • Print 3 Bookmarks that link to Meet-the-Author Recordings

  • Consider Jason Reynolds, Cynthia Lord, and Dan Santat as they explain how their story ideas came from real life experiences

  • When they are finished, have them record their own booktalk!
